Yes, our 2011 Pinot Noir is now available. While 2011 was a tough vintage on the mainland, Tasmania proved its resilience and cool climate advantage. It is an elegant wine with a classic bouquet of bright cherry fruit and delicate perfumes of violets and other florals. The palate has excellent line and length, initially showing the traditional cherry fruit for which Pinot Noir is known, flowing into darker fruits such as boysenberry with hints of forest floor. Well supported by a net of fine tannin, this wine is best enjoyed at room temperature and would partner a wide range of fine cuisine, especially duck.
It has already received numerous show medals, as well as reviews of 93 points, 92 points and 91 points from well known wine writers and wine magazines. Also, Huon Hooke commented that it has a “Subtle but complex, rounded bouquet. Rich and smooth in the mouth with flesh and texture, a lovely wine indeed. Liberal tannins, but smooth as silk”.
It is certainly drinking very well now; as with previous vintages of our Pinot Noir I also think it can only improve with more bottle age.
Cheers
Fred
